  National Substance Use Prevention Week
Description:
May 8 – May 14 is National Substance Use Prevention Week National Prevention Week brings together communities to raise awareness about the importance of substance use prevention & positive mental health. The Change Collaborative is hosting 3 events: Tuesday May 10th – The Power of YOU(TH): Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) wants to prepare youth to resist peer pressure & empower them to encourage friends to make the right choices. This event will be held virtually starting at 6:30PM. Thursday May 12th – Prevention Walk: Join us for our 2nd Annual Prevention Walk. We’ll be walking from the front office of Manchester High School to the Manchester Youth Service Bureau, where there will be music, free food, giveaways, as well as prizes for the first 30 participants. 2:30-3:45PM. Saturday May 14th – Hidden in Plain Sight: Parents and caregivers can attend an interactive workshop that teaches participants how to start conversations with teens about substance use and how to spot drug paraphernalia and substance misuse. This event is for adults only and will be held at the Youth Service Bureau from 10am-12pm. For more information contact Samantha Bell at sbell@manchesterct.gov or call (860) 647-5260.

Description:
The Manchester Youth Service Division is proud to invite you to help us celebrate the Year Round Employment program's completed MURAL. The youth artists have worked hard over the past several months to contribute a beautiful outdoor art piece for the Town of Manchester. The reveal will take place on 05/12/2022, 5:30-6:30, at the Mahoney Recreation Center, 110 Cedar Street, Manchester. Refreshments will be served.
