6/4 Hiking & Yoga 4:00-7:00 PM Pre-registration through the instructor is required. The group will assemble at the bridge at Case Mountain, 640 Spring Street. Contact: Meeyoung Lepore; mdl2001@gmail.com 6/4 Guided Hike of Case Mountain 10:00 AM-12:00 PM 4 miles along the CFPA Blue Blazed trails with views from Lookout Mountain. This hike traverses moderate terrain with average ups and downs. Appropriate footwear is strongly recommended; leashed dogs are permitted as part of this hike. The group will depart from the Case Pond parking area, 68 Birch Mountain Road. Leader: Patrick Kennedy: KennedysinSW@aol.com 6/4 Selfies with Joe McCluskey 10:00 a.m. Free walk in the Highland Park area of Manchester to visit the Joe McCluskey sculpture and to take a selfie with Joe The half-mile walk, historic commentary, and photo op will take about one hour. Meet at the bus company parking lot on Glen Road. Town Historian, Susan Barlow, will lead the walk. 6/4 Center Springs Park 1 pm Kids, families, and adults are invited to the Manchester Land Trust’s 1.25-mile stroll to see the park and its interesting geology, with a side trip to the Trust’s newly acquired 11.57-acre property north of the park. Meet at 39 Lodge Drive. 6/5 Risley Park, Vernon 1 pm 2.5-mile hike. Park at the lot at 366 Lake Street, Vernon for a moderately paced hike on the Manchester Land Trust’s 155.3-acre open space property with a pond, meadow, forest, and miles of trails.

Town Wide Tag Sale Day June 4: It's the opening day of Manchester's week long celebrations and it's Manchester Women's Club Annual Town Wide tag sale day. People will be out in droves, why not take advantage and have a tag sale at your home and let Manchester Women's club advertise for you. We're providing a map to tag sale locations all around town. Register your tag sale and let us bring customers to you. $20.00 will get you added to the map and the proceeds benefit our scholarship fund. Description:
Online Appointments are now mandatory for all Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) events. Click the link to schedule your appointment to bring your HHW to our town landfill. Collection dates for 2022 are: April 2 (FILLED), May 14, June 4, Aug. 27, Sept. 24, Oct. 29 and Nov. 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Manchester regional center for household hazardous waste collection. A fall outreach collection will also be held Oct. 15 in Stafford This applies to residents of Glastonbury, Hebron, Manchester, Marlborough, Somers, South Windsor, Stafford, and Vernon. [10:00am] Trails Day event: Selfies with Joe McCluskey
Description:
The public is invited to a free walk in the Highland Park area of Manchester to visit the Joe McCluskey sculpture and to take a selfie with Joe (or have a Sculpture Committee member take your picture). The half-mile walk, historic commentary, and photo op will take about one hour. Guests will learn more about the Manchester sculpture project, which honors residents who contributed to the Manchester community and its history. The event is one of the many Connecticut Trails Day events taking place June 4 and 5. Meet at the bus company parking lot on Glen Road: from the intersection of Spring Street and Glen Road, take a right past the brick mill buildings to the lot. Town Historian, Susan Barlow, will lead the walk, which is in the Case Brothers National Historic District.
